Message from Mary Anne Malone, Parish Life Coordinator

The Baptism of the Lord was celebrated last Sunday and we entered into Ordinary Time the day after. There is always a period of Ordinary Time between Christmas and Ash Wednesday, but based on the date for Easter, Ash Wednesday can come early and end Ordinary Time after only a few weeks. This is one of the long ones – seven weeks. In this time when we are still struggling with short days and long nights, keep the Light of Christ alive in your hearts and in your lives. Just as we make resolutions for the New Year, take this time to reflect on ways you can come closer to Jesus Christ. Can you pray in a new way? Can you reach out to a neighbor with renewed enthusiasm? Can you come to the Sacrament of Reconciliation more often? Make a serious change for the better, and make this Ordinary Time extraordinary!

GIVING TREE PROJECT:  A Sincere thank you to ALL who participated in the Giving Tree Project in any way.  You may have helped make tags, you may have collected and delivered toys, organized toys, or helped in the gathering and organization of all the gifts.  You may have taken one tag or many tags and purchased the gift, wrapped it, and returned it to our church.  If you participated in any way you should know that the families were extremely grateful!  Their faces and hugs and tears showed what a tremendous outpouring of attention and care they feel from our efforts.

THANK YOU!
